BLOG- Get to know US

As a student diving into web design for the first time, building this site from scratch using WordPress was both exciting and a little intimidating. But through trial, error, and a lot of late-night Google searches, I walked away with valuable hands-on experience that helped me grow as a creator and problem-solver.

Here are five key things I learned during the process:

1. Planning matters.
Before writing a single word of code (or clicking anything in WordPress), I created a simple sitemap to guide the layout of my site. Knowing what pages I needed made everything less overwhelming.

2. Design is about more than looks.
I quickly realized that clean navigation, readable fonts, and mobile-friendliness matter just as much as colors and images. A beautiful website should also be intuitive and accessible.

3. Elementor makes life easier.
The Elementor plugin was a game-changer for page design. Drag-and-drop building allowed me to experiment freely with layouts and focus more on creativity than code.

4. Content reflects your brand.
Each word and image I added to my site was a reflection of me — my goals, my personality, and the work I want to do. It reminded me that a personal website isn’t just a school project — it’s a digital handshake with future employers.

5. Confidence comes with practice.
I went from staring blankly at the dashboard to confidently adding pages, customizing themes, and tweaking CSS. Now I feel ready to take on even bigger projects.
